  1. Congratulations, Eve! So that’s what you’ve been studying all this time! Pretty impressive stuff! May I ask, how does this work in Britain? What academic degree do you have now? Is it like a Master’s degree in the USA, or a doctorate, or what? I know I’m showing my ignorance, but here’s a chance to learn!

  2. looking forward to reading more of your creativity… glad to hear ‘we’re done – My Preciousssssss…” congratulations…

      • ok, I’ll be willing to wait.. don’t worry, i don’t have any intentions to do stupid things God forbid me if I do such:)..i’m just sooo interested in reading how other cultures see us Asians 🙂 I really hope you’ll get the goal that you’ve been praying for 🙂 goodluck to you!! 🙂

  4. Congratulations, Eve! Hooray! And that’s some thesis title. LOL! I work in a very academic environment and I’m accustomed to some amazing research titles…I am impressed! So fantastic, and I hope you celebrate!! Debra

    • Hehe, hooray! Glad to have it all sorted! Thank you for saying so about my title, I’m still convinced I could have made it a bit better, but, too late now! 😛 x

  5. Stacey, well done on completing your dissertation ‘… grotesque realism’ wow! – it’ll be good to have you back!
I want to let you know that I’ve created a new page on my blog called ‘Awards’ and that I’ve linked to you there – and nominated you for all of them – Polly x

  6. Congratulations. I cannot imagine how you managed to blog and do a dissertation on grotesque realism – whatever that is? – at the same time.

    • Thank you Rosie! It was trickier than I thought it would be to be honest, but I got through! Letting the more creative thoughts flow again now~

And “grotesque realism” is a sub-theory of “grotesque theory”. Grotesque realism was coined by Bakhtin, and it’s used to relate the human anatomy to various things, like politics, for example. I won’t say much more, or I’ll be writing forever! 😛

  7. Fantastic! Congratulations. It must feel good to be done ; ) I am almost done my year of teaching and I look forward to a summer of writing more and spending more time with my children.

  8. Eve, congratulations on your senior thesis. As the Provost of a college I will, later this week, lead the faculty into the audience with the students following behind and complete a tradition that I have lived over and over again. The thrill of the procession and the pride of parents and students never gets old. I find it amazing that your poetry is as effective as it is. You seem young to me even though I realize more and more that age is relative to the age at which you are at for this moment. I want to encourage you to go on to a masters and doctorate if those are your goals. Academic is a long, challenging road, but the reward of deep accomplishment is, at least for me, well worth the sacrifice. As you walk in the procession hold your head high and walk with pride. I know your parents and faculty have pride in you.

  9. SO IMPRESSED with you! Congratulations and may your next adventures be more rich and challenging and joyful than ever–you have certainly earned the privilege!
