Hullo everyone,
I haven’t wrote a poem, nor posted one to my blog for just over a month now. I miss it.
But I hope now, as I can happily say that I’ve been accepted onto my Masters course, I can return to it once again. I’m ecstatic at being selected for the course, as I wasn’t the strongest candidate, but now all that stands in my way is the funding (which I’m in the process of applying for), so all’s not set in stone – keeping my fingers & toes crossed!
A few more hurdles to jump over and then, hopefully, all being well, I can get back to being a bit more creative.
Apologies for the sudden hiatus, but life really does get in the way sometimes.

Congratulations. I am so glad you have been chosen. You must be so pleased. Today, as the rain falls outside, I am filling in my application for my Masters which I hope to start next September.

MPhil in writing at Coleg Morgannwg. Why didn’t you have much hope? Only 8 are selected for my course each year – I’m not sure of my chances but I am going to give it my best shot.
Wow, that sounds like a great course! I didn’t really think I’d get on purely because it’s a complete change in degree profession. Usually only English graduates are accepted, so I’m pretty sure I’ve been accepted due to my grades in modules and overall enthusiasm. It’s been a tense wait!
8 places are few, but the only thing you can do is try, and try your best! I’ll definitely keep my fingers crossed for you. 🙂

Aww, hullo Lorinda, I’ve missed you too! I’ve still been stocking up on poetry books during my time away; I picked up the most amazing 1900’s hardback by Elizabeth Barrett Browning – quite the find. 🙂 It’s been helping me stay in the loop!

And, it’s not slavery, not at all, otherwise I wouldn’t write anything at all! Just a bit of a dry spell while life evens out. But, I’ve taken the opportunity to do a lot of reading, so I’m not complaining too much, hehe~

Hi – sorry, I missed this one earlier! But many congrats, you look great and very happy, and why not? Congrats too on getting on the MA course and I’m sure you have a fab literary career ahead of you. It is crazy young that young people in England have to find these preposterous, outrageous and slavish fees, a complete disincentive to a) get a mortgage on top of loan repayments and b) stay in this country!
Whatever you do afterwards, good luck and keep writing! You are unique.

Yes, it’s hard to find any kind of financial balance, especially when you’re from a humble earning family – I’m going to be struggling with money for a long while yet; it’s that kind of impact that worries me for the future, things like mortgages as you say. We shall see, I might not even get funding worse case scenario.
But thank you, it was a good day at graduation – something to celebrate after a long, winding journey. 🙂
I’ll keep writing, I’ve just not really written anything I think I should post lately!

Thank you very much! It’s been a long journey with a few bumps along the road, but it’s all been mightily worth it. Applications and the like are always nerve-wracking, but the reward you get from going through it all more than makes up for it – I wish them both the best of luck. 🙂
I’ve been writing things on the sly as I’ve been away from the blog, though nothing I feel should be on here, you know? So, I’m working on things slowly; I’m sure I’ll have something I’m happy with soon. It’s been nice taking a break though, it’s allowed me to see things a lot clearer.
